Dear friends,

I have written earlier about the Maya Somaiya Library that we built at our Sharda School in Kopargaon in Maharashtra.

Last month, the London Design Museum announced their annual awards for the best design entries.  They are called the Beazley awards.  I am delighted to say that under the architecture category, among all the global entries our library won the best architecture design of the year.  You can read more about the award at the link below :

We never built this for an award.  We wanted to create a space.  And it is so nice to see that an Indian entry, a Somaiya Vidyavihar entry, our entry for a library in a rural school, not on the beaten track, has won another global and prestigious award.
